Vacuum Evaporator

E-mail Print
Vacuum Evaporation are designed for larger volume. The evaporation takes place inside of a vacuum chamber at about 28” of water. This condition causes wastewater to start boiling at approximately 100ºF. The vapor from this process is condensed in a condenser and it is discharged as water. Typically, if the waste stream does not have any constituent that evaporates below 100ºF, the water can be recycled and reused. Special attention is given to the selection of the material for the vacuum chamber and the cooling tubes in the condenser. The combination of vacuum pump, vacuum chamber, condenser and the refrigeration system makes this technology somewhat capital intensive.
