Facility Closure
Kobe Precision, Inc. (KPI) closed its doors after operating for 20 years reclaiming wafers for clients such as Intel and AMD. SRI was contracted to prepare the Closure Plan, over see the equipment dismantling and disposal and facility decontamination.
SRI had prepared the Closure Plan and submitted to the HazMat division of City of Hayward in a week after authorization to proceed as KPI had an interested party to purchase the building. The plan was approved on the same day and the equipment cleaning procedure started immediately.SRI sampled the equipment and maintain a record for every equipment moved out of the facility. Upon removal of all equipment the facility cleaning process started and was completed 
within schedule and budget.
The final closure report was completed in 5 days after the last waste disposal manifest was obtained. The City commented that this was the best closure report they have ever seen.
