Multiple projects with this satisfied client, which started in 2002 and continues with annual service contract to this date.
Wastewater Treatment & Recycling Systems
SRI designed, fabricated and installed two 20 GPM wastewater recycling systems in 2002 for Chromium (Cr) plating line and Cadmium Cyanide (CdCN) plating operation on a turnkey basis. In both design approaches, Ion Exchange Technology was used to remove metals such as Cr, Ni, Cd and Cu. Ozone/UV advance oxidation process was used to destroy cyanide (CN).
Acid and caustic was used for regeneration of the exhausted systems, and the regeneration was directed to the existing precipitation system for treatment and discharge to the sewer.
This facility was utilizing approximately 30,000 gallons of water per day. The installed Ion Exchange Systems reduced this water consumption to 3000 gallons once a week from the Cr system and once every two weeks from the CN system. Therefore, the newly Wastewater Treatment & Recycling System paid for itself in less than 2 years.
Chrome and Cyanide Batch Treatment Systems
SRI designed, fabricated and installed two batch systems in 2004 to treat spent baths and regeneration from the recycling systems in a controlled way. Standard chemical precipitation process was used in reduction of chromium 6 (Cr+6) to chromium 3 (Cr+3).
